About

feel-good.now is a free site for people who are basically fine and want to feel better: calmer, more social, more hopeful, with better habits. Treat it like a gym for everyday life. You don’t need to be ill to train.

It covers specific situations (“staying calm before a difficult meeting”) and practical skills. It doesn’t cover mental illness, and it isn’t therapy.

Sister sites

eatgood.now does the same for food, liftgood.now for strength training and cardio, and sleepgood.now for sleep. They all work the same way: one clear path for beginners, sources for every claim, no ads.

Who pays for it

The site is paid for entirely by the person who runs it. There are no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsors and no donations, so nothing on the site earns money and nothing is recommended because of a deal.

How pages are sourced

  • Every factual claim links to its source. Sources are listed at the end of each page.
  • We prefer, in order: systematic reviews and meta-analyses, randomized trials, large long-term studies (such as the Harvard Study of Adult Development), and established methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, problem-solving therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.
  • Links go to PubMed, the DOI, or the publisher’s page.
  • Every page has an evidence rating: Strong, Some, Weak or Common practice. How we rate evidence.
  • Psychology has a replication problem: some famous findings, such as power posing and ego depletion, didn’t hold up when other labs repeated the studies. We don’t present those as fact. When we mention one, we say it failed to replicate.
  • If we can’t verify a source, we don’t give a number, and we rate the page Weak or Common practice.
  • Pages summarize sources in our own words. We don’t copy their text.

Not therapy or medical advice

This site gives general information for adults who are doing okay. It can’t diagnose anything or replace a therapist or doctor. If low mood or worry has been with you most days for a couple of weeks, read If it’s more than a rough patch.

Privacy

  • No cookies. None, including for analytics.
  • Page views are counted with GoatCounter, which does not store personal data or track you across sites. The counting script is served from this site. It is not loaded at all if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
  • No other outside requests. Every file comes from this site. No fonts, scripts or images are loaded from anywhere else.
  • Saved on your device only: your theme choice and anything you save in the tools. It stays in your browser’s local storage and is never sent anywhere. Each tool can export your data and delete it.
